    Hi Aliza,
I was so shocked to hear from the LIST this morning about your health crisis! My thoughts and prayers are going out to you for your speedy and complete recovery. I worked with you on some of the Dyke March fund raising back in the 2003-2005 era. You were always larger than life to me, and quite handsome too boot! 😉 And all those cool ties….

So, get better girl. Get back to doing the things that make your heart sing and creative juices flow the hardest.
    With affection,

  29. You will be smangin’ again in no time. Thanks for being so awesome.

  30. Lisa DiMatteo says:

I don’t know Aliza but learned of her story from my cousin Thea Izzi who attended Uni with Aliza. I have participated in the arts community in Somerville AND have been without health insurance before in my life…we are all connected and even though I don’t know Aliza I feel a strong connection to her. So, while my donation is large in energy than dollars I believe in the power of connection and helping our neighbors. All the best for a speedy, comfortable, well fed and funded recovery for Aliza. 🙂 Hugs, Lisa D.

  31. Bobbi Cee says:

I know you’ll be back on stage before too long! Get better soon sweetie.

  32. Like many, I was shocked to hear what happened to Aliza and wanted to help in any way I could. I just made a personal gift filled with lots of good luck (8x actually) – and we’re going to make a pitch for Aliza’s Brain Trust at SoJust’s 5th birthday party on September 14th. If the keepers of this website could help me get some images for the party that would be great. It would also be great if Aliza’s friends could be in attendance so we can make it clear how much she’s loved! Details at Thanks.

my stepmum had a severe stroke two years ago and it was the most devastating thing i have ever been through so when i heard of this i wanted to donate because while i was not aware of aliza beforehand she sounds like someone i would definitely be a fan of. knowing how long my stepmum’s recovery has taken and how costly it must be in america with their healthcare i wanted to do what i could from over the other side of the world. i wish aliza nothing but the best and that i will be thinking of her. things like this make me realize just how powerful the internet can be in terms of raising help for people.

  48. Genet says:

Wish I could be at your fundraiser tonight. I know it will be great. <3.
